Normally we can link the portal URL in mail system where manager can directly open the portal from his notification mail & and this can be achieved in with ease. but where as to approve the request through notification mail is a bit tough task i can say. perhaps its not possible too. I don't know which EHP level u r working right now?? but normally when u r taking SAP into external system (mail system for approval) we need to find a suitable BAPI. where in std, SAP must release this BAPI where externally also the system works for the leave request approval. u must maintain RFC connections for those BAPI and integrate to the 3rd party system. so then only ur requirement can be achieved. there is only one std BAPI for leave request approval.. check with this whether u can achieve ur requirement or not
